Google DeepMind AI’s Effect On The Built Environment

Google DeepMind has developed an algorithm that will save Google 40% on their data centre energy bill. The algorithm works by using deep neural networks to create a predictive model that analyzes data and adjusts cooling systems in real time to match compute loads. This application of neural networks has massive implications for the burgeoning “smart building” and “smart office” industry, which still has strides to make in building automation before widespread adoption can take place.
